Distinctively Better® plants.
Monrovia connects humans to the finest of nature. At Monrovia nurseries, we grow the healthiest plants for you to create outdoor spaces. Monrovia plants will help your garden thrive for years to come. Our plants are nurtured with attention to every detail. Monrovia has the largest selection of plants online, from shrubs, perennials, annuals, trees, grasses, and conifers.
We have been pioneers and craftsmen in the art of growing plants for nearly 100 years. Since our founding in Southern California by Harry E. Rosedale, Sr. in 1926, we have been absolutely dedicated and obsessed with quality. We now have separate nurseries in various regions to deliver plants throughout the country. Quality starts by selecting the very best varieties of plants to grow, working with breeders from around the world to test and trial plants before we deem them suitable for your garden. We now grow more than 4,000 varieties for every landscape need and every region. From our custom soil mixes developed to ensure healthy roots to the care we take in pruning and shaping our plants as they grow, Monrovia is also focused on giving every plant what it needs to thrive.
Monrovia Plants -- How to Plant a Conifer
Conifers never go out of style. Here’s how to plant one for year-round beauty: 1. Find the “mature size” on the conifer’s tag. 2. Measure twice from existing structures. We’re using our Ember Waves® Western Arborvitae in this video. 3. Dig a hole as deep as the container it came in and twice as wide. 4. Gently loosen the roots. 5. Fill using the soil from your garden. 6. Step firmly to set soil. 7. Add groundcover to help keep down weeds. 8. Water at least once a week and more often when hot and windy.
