Shade and ornamental trees
Riverfarm Nursery is a WHOLESALE ONLY grower of shade and ornamental trees that has been in business for almost three decades. We grow only the highest quality balled and burlap product provided to our customers on time. We are family owned and small enough to fill your smallest request, yet large enough to fill the largest order. Riverfarm is nestled along the rolling hills of Oldham County, Kentucky, overloooking the beautiful Ohio River about 20 miles northeast of Louisville, Kentucky. This area experiences great weather conditions and enjoys long growing seasons wtih plenty of rainfall (45" - 50" annual projections) and our soil is some of the best in the state; a deep well draining Crider soil that is perfect for the growth of quality plant material.

We dig our trees with a Clegg spade, which digs a cylinder shaped ball that will stand without blocks which is especially useful for garden center and re-wholesale customers. We have a range of spade sizes from an 18-inch (used for a 1.75" caliper tree) to a 48-inch (used for a 4.5" caliper tree) depending on your needs. Riverfarm Nursery currently has 250 plus acres in production and plan to continue growing in the future. We are known for working with our customers to not only provide them with their current needs, but also get their input on what varieties they'd like to see us grow and specifically how they'd like the trees produced and/or shaped. This provides us with an ongoing relationship with our customers and keeps us aware of the ever changing market so that we're able to have the types of trees that our industry demands. Currently, we have more than 100 varieties of trees grown as a standard and/or as a clump.
