CowPots
Committed to high quality, biodegradable, plantable pot! Made from COW manure!
CowPots were created by a family of dairy farmers in East Canaan, Connecticut. First and foremost the Freunds maintain a healthy and happy herd of 260 Holstein dairy cows. The cows spend the summers grazing out on the pasture and winters in the barns. Besides producing delicious and fresh milk, the cows also produce a lot of manure. The farmers needed an environmentally safe and sustainable way to manage the manure produced on the farm. Farmer Matt decided to see if he could make a horticultural planting pot out of the manure from his farm. The first batch was mixed up in a pot on the stove and cooked in the farmer's wife's toaster oven.
These farmers have come a long way since then, with a factory on the farm dedicated to CowPots production (no more toaster ovens), but they're still using the same ol' good stuff- composted cow manure. CowPots are in production year round with 10 different sizes to choose from.
